THINKING OF YOU

The blue sky over New Mexico,
is the canvas for a soft blanket,
of white cotton candy clouds covering this vast land.

From the sky, everything stands still,
the broken hills of dark green and endless mocha roads,
form patterns, resembling ancient quilts.

The roar of the Delta plane,
the soft notes of a Japanese melody,
the greasy and dirty wing,
the tiny window on the left side,
and a father’s pray for his son,
are my companion, while everybody sleeps around me.

I let my soul glide like an eagle as far as I can see,
my breath slows down, the spirits speaks to me,
though the sun gently hits my face,
son, I think of your smile and my heart fills with peaceful joy.

The spirits of this enchanted land above me,
by the blue sky and white clouds,
whispers on my ear, don’t worry brother
your son’s journey just began,
you taught him well,
he will be fine.
